Hello, my name is Chuck, my wife’s name is Chris, hence the name C and C Gems. The following is a little information about how we began our venture into mining.
For 13 years, I was a district manager for a major electronics company and Chris was working for her father in the construction business. During this period, our two wonderful boys, Wes and Noah were born. Chris became a stay-at-home mom, but my being a district manager left little time for family, so while on vacation in 1999, Chris and I decided that family was more important than money. I gave notice that year and quit my job, but secured another that did not take up so much of our family life.
Most of our vacations consisted of going to the beach or visiting the usual theme parks in our state, but around 2001 we wanted to do something different, something that the whole family could enjoy. While searching the Internet for interesting places, we came across some articles about diamond and crystal mines in Arkansas. We decided that was our next vacation. And what a vacation it was, even the boys got into the act. We mined night and day and knew we were hooked on mining. Now, every vacation and even weekends, we go mine wherever and whenever we can.
Chris is now taking metal smith courses, learning to cab gemstones. She makes all of the jewelry we sell. I have begun my quest to be a graduate gemologist from GIA and, I am learning to facet gemstones. Most of the minerals we sell have been mined by us, while on vacations in Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, and Arkansas. Some of the minerals we buy from well-established vendors and we have established very good connections with distributors. All of our gemstones are genuine; we do not sell synthetic gemstones.
We hope you enjoy our site and we look forward to serving your gemstone, display minerals and jewelry needs.
Thanks,
Chuck and Chris
